Thursday 31 January, 6.30-8pm
In the UK today, 1.7m adults don’t have a bank account and 60 branches are closing every month across the UK, with poorer and rural areas adversely affected. Avon Mutual will serve the everyday financial needs of SMEs, local community groups, and ordinary households by providing simple and transparent banking services. By pursuing a different business model, Avon Mutual will store wealth in the region and recycle local savings to make local loans.
If you’d like to learn more about Avon Mutual’s model and how it could improve the economic, social, and environmental future of the West of England, we’d be delighted if you could join us for this roundtable. We are particularly keen to engage with people and organisations that would be interested in joining our growing group of founding investors to help us make this a reality. You can register to attend here or RSVP by emailing engagement@rsa.org.uk. We welcome other guests that you think would be interested in this initiative but please bear in mind that spaces are limited.
If you have any questions regarding the event, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and we hope to have you with us in the new year.
